JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Matthew David claimed the top prize in a contest that encouraged young people to express in a video the importance of the St. Johns River.
David was among 14 students from North and Central Florida who competed in the St. Johns Riverkeeper PSA video contest.
"I think it's a really beautiful river. I like to go out boating and stuff on it," said David, who got $500 for producing the best 60-second video.
James Orth, Executive Director of the St. Johns Riverkeeper, says David's work will hopefully inspire people to get involved and protect the river.
