JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Teacher Julie Ann Peterson just lights up when she talks about FIGHT THE COUCH.
She points to the hundreds of red couches cut out of paper and taped up and down the school hallway.
The FIGHT THE COUCH logos represent 10 hours of activity for each team.
Her entire school has been Fighting the Couch for weeks now.
The teams have clever names. "The Energizing Monkeys" and the "Pop Rocks" are just two.
Grace Luthern Church and School opted to hold its own awards ceremony for its students. The school gave trophies to the top teams with the most activity minutes.
The kids loved it!
The students demonstrated they could hold up through a lot of push-ups and long bursts of jump roping.

Meanwhile, teachers, you can download an AWARDS CERTIFICATE for your own students. You can write each student's name on the award to make everyone feel like a winner.
Wednesday on First Coast News at 6 (May 27th), Jeannie Blaylock will announce the top 4 teams out of 500+ competing for the grand prizes.
