CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (AP) -- A South Florida police officer was shot while pursuing armed robbers. Authorities haven't released the name of the Coral Springs police officer who was shot Saturday night, and they haven't released the officer's condition. A police spokesman says the incident came after at least three armed men robbed an auto parts store. During a chase, one of the men apparently fired shots. One of the suspects was arrested at the scene of the shooting. Police say two others proceeded to take hostages at a house before being apprehended. The hostages weren't hurt. A call to Coral Springs police Sunday seeking more information went unreturned.
