JACKSONVILLE, FL -- At the Goodwill Job Junction they are preparing potential workers for the job market.

On a large board in the West Monroe office there are job postings in the Industrial, Clerical, Sales and Food Service areas.

Across the hall in a classroom are twenty job seekers trying to get ready for the market.

"We are teaching them that the job search is going to be their hardest job," says Kendal McCoy.

McCoy is the trainer in the classroom.

"I'm trying to tell them that you have to start with the right attitude," says McCoy.

McCoy says after a good resume you have to be prepared for a good job interview.

He goes over resumes and role playing. McCoy says you should research a company before the interview and anticipate the questions; this allows you to rehearse the answers before the interview.

McCoy says be honest during the interview. He says full disclosure goes a long way.

McCoy says, "If they're going to make an investment in you, it pays for you to be honest and tell them everything."

And when it comes to salary, McCoy says be flexible.

"You might say you're open to a salary range but give your employer some flexibility you might find a range that you didn't know exist," says McCoy.

And if you're rejected don't be discouraged. McCoy says sometimes rejection is a part of the process.

An important tip, get to the interview on time.

The bottom line is be prepared, act confident. answer the questions well and you will most likely beat your competition and win the job.
