Hats off to the creative ideas to get kids up and active. Teachers are inspiring their students to discover how much fun physical activity can be.
FIGHT THE COUCH begins our station commitment, "Kick It Up First Coast," to fight childhood obesity. Health experts say one-third of kids on the First Coast are overweight or obese already.
The idea is to establish healthy habits early on and fend off diabetes, heart attacks, strokes, and lower self esteem.
Teachers, don't forget you must log on your team's activity minutes by 5 p.m. May 22nd to have a shot at the four big prizes.
Of course, every student participating is a winner.
We'll announce the four winning teams on May 27th on First Coast News.
