SPAR Home and Garden Tour

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- If your Mom likes historic homes, loves to sip tea and eat fancy treats you'll want to take her to Springfield where the SPAR Home and Garden Tour gets underway today and continues through Sunday.

The tour begins at the SPAR office on Main Street which has been transformed into "Midge's" Tea Room. Miriam "Midgie" Morris has been a Jacksonville resident for over 85 years. She lived in Springfield as a girl from about 1920 - 1939. A book has been written about her and she'll be available to sign it Friday night during the tour. Tea and appetizers will also be available.

You'll also get a chance to see five historic homes that have been restored, stop at Rose Arbor in Confederate Park, take a mini tour of the Cesery Project at 3rd & Main and get a sneak preview of the new Wine Cellar and Zen Garden which will be opening soon at Three Layers A Coffee House.

Tour times are Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday, May 10th from Noon - 4 p.m. Ticket prices are $12.50 in advance and $15.00 on tour days.
