SARASOTA, FL -- Sarasota County Epidemiologist Scott Pritchard works for the Sarasota County Health Department. He says the influenza virus in general is not as stable in a warm climate which could be good news for Floridians.
"Many people in the medical community believe that there's a possibility that it may be harder to transmit this virus during the summer months - however, anybody with close contact no matter what the weather could potentially become infected."
