JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Jean Davis says she is tired of looking at the empty space in her home entertainment center.

"It is a big hole and I'm tired of looking at it," says Davis.

The television was taken to Weaver's TV on March 3rd. Davis says the owner said it will be ready in a few days.

"I was surprised," says Davis. But a few days turned into a few weeks, and Davis says she can't reach the owner of the repair shop.

"I keep calling and can't get an answer," says Davis.

The shop owner was sick for a week and he changed his business hours. Davis says she knew that and would call during the new hours; the results were still the same.

Davis says, "I want my TV."

Frustrated, she called On Your Side. When we went to the repair shop, the owner Kent Weaver was there.

He was fixing a television set, but stopped to look for Mrs. Davis 27-inch Zenith television set.

Within minutes, he found it among the other televisions that are in his shop for repair.

It was sitting in a corner with the repair tag attached.

Weaver said a few weeks ago he called and told someone at the Davis home that the set was repaired and ready for pickup.

Jean Davis said she never received that message.

She said if someone at the business had answered one of her many calls she would have no reason to complain.

Weaver gave Davis her television and the repair comes with a three-month warranty.

A check of the Better Business Bureau shows there are no complaints filed against Weaver's TV.

A Consumer Tip:

Before using a repair shop, check for the proper licenses and bonding.

Ask the following questions:

Is there a warranty, and for how long?

What is the minimum service fee?

Can the repairs be performed in my home?

Ask if you will still be able to use the television after the digital switch?

The answers may save you a headache.
