JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Students at Hendricks Day School don't want to miss out on science lab because it is fun and interesting. Their teacher Sheryl Dwyer is our Teacher of the Week.
We caught up with 6th grade students in science lab and they were excited about learning. They were energetic and enthusiatic about science; much like their teacher Sheryl Dwyer.
"Every day I walk into the classroom and I know we're going to do something fun. Even if it's something we read on paper, she always tries to make it fun," said 6th grader Aliya Jenkins.
Mrs. Dwyer has been teaching for 13 years. She teaches all grade levels at Hendricks Day School and the students love her class. "It really is the class I want to attend each week," said 6th grader Eric Bigham.
Her class is one students don't want to miss. "What can I say? I have a subject area that's very easy to get kids excited about and easy to turn it into a hands on experience. They want to come because it's fun," said Dwyer.
She even uses her own vacation time to take 6th grade students on a trip to Key West so they can get a first hand learning experience.
She has all sorts of interesting things and creatures in her classroom and her students are always happy to come back to class to learn even more.
"She's a great teacher. She keeps us busy," said Bigham.
