GREEN COVE SPRINGS, FL -- FSU football coach Bobby Bowden made the first stop in his annual booster club tour at Magnolia Point Golf & Country Club on Monday afternoon.
The legendary coach shot a 94 on the golf course, and that score is likely to get lower the more he plays this spring.
Bowden likes the way his offense is shaping up after spring practice. Most of the starters return from last year including the entire offensive line. First Coast High School graduate Jermaine Thomas is slated to be the starting tailback and Wolfson High School graduate Louis Givens is expected to contribute as a wide receiver. He's still a walk-on right now, but Bowden says he's the next in line to receive a scholarship when one becomes available.
The Seminoles have to replace a few key guys on defense like defensive end Everette Brown who's expected to be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft and Mandarin High School graduate Tony Carter who started at cornerback the last few seasons.
