
ATLANTA (AP) -- Spring enrollment at Georgia's 35 public colleges and state universities has increased 5.8 percent over 2008. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia said Monday that the total number of students is 272,910, an increased of 14,896. There was a 3.2 percent rise in the number of students from spring 2007 to spring 2008. The report also indicates that students are taking more courses. The full-time equivalent enrollment, a statistical measure of how many course students take in a given semester, went up 6.6 percent from spring 2008.
