ATLANTA (AP) -- Just when we thought it was time for warm weather, mother nature does an about face. Forecasters at the National Weather Service office in Peachtree City say snow showers are likely across portions of far north Georgia late Monday night. Accumulations of around a half-inch are possible in the northeast Georgia mountains. There's also a chance of rain and snow showers as far south as Atlanta and Athens toward Tuesday morning. The late cold snap means subfreezing temperatures will prompt farmers and gardeners to protect sensitive vegetation. Meanwhile, forecasters have issued a wind advisory for much of central and north Georgia.
