CALLAHAN, FL -- Teachers at Callahan Elementary aren't just sitting back and watching their students walk the track.
Mrs. Jones' Jets---with Mrs. Jones---are out getting exercise.
So a big hats off to Callahan Elementary.
Watch the video and you'll see their creative ideas, including two giant potatoes made out of burlap.
Mr. and Mrs. Potato came out on a couch to encourage the students to put down the video games and move around!
Alma Bailey, the P.E. teacher, says she worries about her students. Some, she says, try to make it around the track and get out of breath.
So she's supporting Fight the Couch to tackle childhood obesity.
This week is registration. The contest begins Monday, April 6.
We need more schools from Nassau County to join us! Duval County is leading the way right now and we'd like all counties to have a strong participation.
