JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Hats off to San Mateo Elementary! The kids and their teachers put together quite the song for Fight the Couch. Click on the video to watch their creativity.
Meanwhile, the kids are part of a serious focus on childhood obesity.
A Jacksonville man, Anthony, allowed us to video him... and his foot, or what's left of it.
Anthony has Type 2 diabetes, the same disease more and more children are getting because they're overweight.
The video with Anthony isn't easy to watch. But he and doctors make the point that adults cannot just sit back and watch their children gain weight.
The consequences are dangerous.
So if you want to help your children at school avoid treacherous health problems down the road, sign up for FIGHT THE COUCH.
Teachers, you must register to allow your students to compete in this fun and free contest.
We're offering big prizes to the four classes with the most activity minutes. The video explains more.
Each teacher must register his own class.
