CARROLLTON, GA -- Carroll County authorities have identified the three people who were traveling in a small plane that crashed into a private lake in west Georgia.
Tiffany Pullen of Carroll County Fire Rescue identifies the three as 51-year-old Brian Kearney, his wife, 45-year-old Christa Kearney, both of Marietta, and 40-year-old Timothy Miller of Woodstock. The bodies of a man and a woman were found Sunday.
Carrollton Fire Department Chief Jimmy Bearden says divers were searching for a third body Monday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the 1975 Cessna 182 left Cobb County Airport-McCollum Field and crashed into the lake around 9 a.m. Sunday, about three miles southwest of the University of West Georgia.
Bearden says tickets found in the debris indicate the three were headed to the Kobalt Tools 500 NASCAR race in Henry County.
