GAINESVILLE, FL -- Huntington Lakes Apartments is on trial over a case involving one of their tenants.

The Davis family says they were placed in an apartment at the complex where they were subjected to an attack by a known sexual predator.

The family moved into the complex back in 2002. In November, 2002, a man came to the back patio with his pants down and exposed himself. The man then cut the patio screen to try and get into the home. The Davis family barricaded themselves in the apartment and called police.

According to the family's attorney, three college females lived in the apartment before the Davis family and left because the man was stalking them.

According to the attorney, the complex was warned by police not to rent the unit out until after the predator was caught.

The family says they were never told about the stalking incidents. They are suing the complex for failing to provide a safe and secure environment for their family.
