JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A student at Episcopal High School is very involved in the community and she's also very talented, so she's using her talent to help raise money for those in need.
Grace Kunzelmann, 16, is a senior at Episcopal and she has a beautiful voice and a beautiful spirit. She recently recorded a CD called 'Soli Deo Gloria.' "We thought this would be a good way to be able to say, 'yes, I do have a recording,' and raise money for missions," said Kunzelmann.
There are ten songs on the CD. Some are duets with a friend. "It's just songs I love to sing," said Kunzelmann.
She's selling the CD at her church and places she performs. The money raised all goes to mission trips. She's raised $2,000 so far. Kunzelmann says, "This was a small way of using talents that God has blessed me with to give back to my community."
And that's not all. She's received dozens of awards and is very involved in the community and her school. "Something I'm really excited about that's come to fruition is the Global Citizen Initiative, which is something I started in the 10th grade," Kunzelmann.
Her initiative helps establish pen pal relationships with other students from around the world. Students from Spain are coming here in April. "It's our first ever Spanish exchange so I'm very excited and it's all started out of the Global Citizen Initiative."
She's also the co-captain of the golf team and a National Merit Scholar Finalist for 2009.
Kunzelmann is a hard-working, ambitious student and as for her future, "What would be my dream after college is to work in the Middle East and implement my language skills and I think it would be really cool to be an economic advisor there or a consultant of some sort."
In the meantime, she'll keep singing, selling her CDs, and doing what she can to help others.
Anyone interested in buying her CD can contact First Presbyterian Church on Amelia Island.
