JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The fishing haven Strike Zone has been struck twice in the last two weeks.

The thief is a guy in his late forties or early fifties who wears a Florida Gator ball cap each time he hits, along with a baggy sweater.

"He's standing right in front of the camera, like he doesn't care," says Strike Zone owner Dave Workman, Jr.

The man has stolen a couple of thousand dollars worth of fishing gear. The first time he hit, he arrived in a red Mazda car.

He got out of the passenger side and put on a baggy sweater in the parking lot.

The man headed to the back of the store, where in less than eight minutes, he dropped 24 rolls of fishing line down into his sweater. The rolls are worth $90 a piece.

"It looks like a custom thief jacket where you have a number of layers," says Robert Olson, the man in charge of security for the store.

Olson says the man also slipped a $180 reel inside the sweater and walked away.

The store clerks didn't pick up on the theft until the next day when they spotted the reel's empty box and pulled the surveillance video.

Olson says in his eleven years of being in the security business he has not seen someone this bold.

"Nothing this blatant. It just shows you how with the economy, what people are willing to do to get by," says Olson.

But that's not all. Two days ago, the guy came back. He had the sweater on, the Florida Gator ball cap and this time he carried a shopping list with him too.

Clerks spotted him and called police. Another tried to stall him. One clerk even blocked the door.

"The guy ducked out and got away saying he was calling his lawyer, that you assaulted me," says Workman.

This time around he didn't get a chance to steal anything. Store clerks say he left in a white car this time and parked further away so the cameras couldn't catch him. In both cases, someone was driving him.

Strike Zone has placed the surveillance video on YouTube.com in the hopes someone will recognize him. They also want to warn other store owners this guy is out there.

If you know anything that can help police, call our partner First Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS (8477). You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward.
