JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Fat Tuesday is next week and that means the parties will be in full swing this weekend in New Orleans and in our very own St. Marys, Georgia.
All the fun in St. Marys begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. There will be arts & crafts, food and entertainment all day long.
"This is the 15th year for Mardi Gras in St. Marys and this is a family- friendly event," says Doug Vaught the President of the Downtown Merchants Association.
But, just like Mardi Gras in New Orleans there will be a big parade and bead-throwing. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. and goes down Osborne Street toward the waterfront.
Later that night, the fun culminates with a Mardi Gras Ball at J's British Pub in downtown St. Marys at 7:00pm. The cost of the tickets is $30.00.
You can buy tickets at J's British Pub and Once Upon a Bookseller in the downtown area.
