
FORT STEWART, GA (AP) -- Soldiers assigned to a Fort Stewart-based unit are back on Georgia soil after serving fifteen months in Iraq. The Army said 79 members of the 24th Finance Company arrived Tuesday at the military post. The unit deployed in Dec. 2007 to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom. The 24th was responsible for handling financial transactions and commercial vendor payments across central Iraq.
