
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Jacksonville Fire Rescue says a brush fire that endangered some homes on the Westside is under control.
JFRD Spokesperson Tom Francis says crews are monitoring some hot spots, but the fire is out.
Firefighters responded to a blaze near Chaffee Road and 103rd Street around 6 p.m.
Francis says initially some flare-ups threatened three homes. He says crews put out the flames nearly 15 minutes after arriving.
One home sustained heat damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
