NBCNC -- Want to cut your shaving costs in half?

Everyone's looking for ways to shave dollars off their budgets. One thing that doesn't seem to budge is the price of the razor.

Renee Winter has cut back on a lot of things, but she can't seem to shave money off this necessity.

Renee says, "I like more blades. I feel more blades works better than 2 or 1."

Her five blade razor costs her $11.99.

Frustrated, she says, "I feell like i go through razors a lot. So definitely! Tell me the way! Show me the way!"

Enter master barber Perry Gastis, CEO of The Gentleman's Refinery. He says, "There are good razors, bad razors, cheap razors, expensive razors."

Gastis says you'll save money on this 12-pack of disposable razors for $3.49, but, he cautions, "It's a harsh blade. You need to press very hard. It takes layers of skin off."

Gastis recommends the five blade.

"I think this is the finest, mass produced blade made today," he says.

It's pricier, but Gastis says double the life of each blade by using only lukewarm water. Hot or cold warps the blade, and leave the razor in jojoba oil after each shave.

How about a razor sharpener?

According to Gasitc, "It just simply doesn't work. Don't waste your money."

A few extra care steps, and Gastis says you can double the life of your razor.
