JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A teenager is dead after she losing control of her vehicle. Right now investigators are trying to determine in weather played a role in the collision.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 16-year-old Morgan Lane Rittgers was driving northbound on Lem Turner Road near Terrell Road.
Troopers say she lost control of her car and went onto the shoulder. The vehicle then came back onto the road and hit a Chevy heading southbound.
The Chevy was pushed off the road into a ditch.
Rittgers' car came to a stop in the roadway. She was transported to the hospital where she later died.
Patricia McCumbers Busbee, the driver of the Chevy, was taken to Shands Jacksonville in critical conditions.
Investigators say charges are stilling pending further investigation.
