JACKSONVILLE, FL -- People who know Teresa Glick say she is a busy working mom, a selfless person and always doing something to help other people.
But that selfless approach has left her little time to pay attention to herself or her appearance.
"I had a baby 2 and 1/2 years ago," says Glick. "It took me over two years to loss the weight. Now all my clothes are basically too big."
Co-workers say this baggy style has led to some desperate measures. "One time she even used a (binder) clip like for paper to clip the pants," says co-worker Tricia Boleky about Glick's techniques to make her clothes fit.
The desire to give this mom some pampering and a new outlook is what prompted Boleky to nominate her co-worker for a makeover through the Wardrobe Therapy store in Jacksonville.
It's a boutique on Atlantic Boulevard near San Pablo. But the owners try to set themselves apart by focusing on helping shoppers update their style. Their services include a visit to shopper's home to suggest how to coordinate the clothes they have with new clothes.
Co-owner Stephanie Vavilala decided a great way to showcase their services would be a makeover contest. So they asked for nominations on the store's web site. Glick was the first candidate chosen.
Glick came into the store to get three new looks including an outfit for work, casual "mom" clothes and an outfit for a night on the town.
But she wasn't alone in the store. A film crew with Red Hawk Strategies recorded the whole transformation. They created a makeover show for the store's web site.
"I love all the makeover shows like "What Not to Wear" and "How to Look Good Naked", says Vavilala. "Our webcast is taking all of those things and putting it together into something that would work for Jacksonville."
Makeover shows are very popular because people love seeing the transformation.
For Glick's style re-do, Vavilala focused on showing her how to wear one main piece (a black tunic dress) in several different ways.
Glick says some of the outfits were much different than she would have chosen for herself. But she says it gave her a new outlook on herself. "Not as frumpy and almost mom-ish looking," says Glick. "I have a life outside of being a mom."
As part of the makeover, Glick recieved one of the outfits for free. That included a dress from Wardrobe Therapy, jewelry from LaBella Luna and crystal sandals from Crystal Princess.
