ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- A mother of two with ties to the First Coast was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-95 Thursday morning.

The crash happened near World Golf Village.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 33 year old Rachel Higgins of St. Augustine was driving south in the northbound lanes of I-95 when she crashed into an SUV.

A family of four from South Carolina was in the SUV. They were returning from a vacation at Disney World. They were driving to Fleming Island for a family reunion.

The collision killed Higgins and 45 year old Debbra Baughman.

Her husband Scott Baughman, 44, is at Shands Jacksonville with critical injuries.

Lindsey Baughman, 19, is hospitalized with serious injuries. Relatives says she could be out of the hospital by Friday.

Aaron Baughman, 14, is hospitalized at Shands with critical injuries. Family members say his prognosis looks good.

The Baughmans are from Lugoff, SC.

A relative told First Coast News the Baughmans have been married for 21 years.

Debbra Baughman worked as a media center assistant at Wateree Elementary School in Kershaw County.

She'd worked there for the past five years.

The school district released this statement:

"Debbra was a truly positive person and genuinely loved kids. She was upbeat and was always willing to help. Her Wateree Elementary family and the Kershaw County School District is deeply saddened by the tragedy and we want to reach out to the family at this time."Investigators don't know why the car was going the wrong way on the interstate. Toxicology tests are pending.

FHP had the I-95 northbound blocked for about two hours.
