CLAY COUNTY, FL -- Two people are dead after a crash on State Road 16 W. near Green Cove Springs.
Lt. Bill Leeper with the Florida Highway Patrol says a truck was headed westbound on S.R. 16 at a high rate of speed.
The truck ran into the rear-end of a van. Then the truck went into on coming traffic and struck two other vehicles.
Lt. Leeper says both people in the truck died at the scene.
They have been identified as Benjamin Kelly, 17, and Lisa Kelly, 49. Both lived in Starke.
The other people in the crash suffered only minor injuries.
The collision happened around 3:15 p.m. on Monday on S.R. 16 W. near County Road 315.
S.R. 16 W. was closed in both directions for about 2 hours. The roadway re-opened just before 5:30 p.m.
