JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Many First Coast News viewers responded to our call to send in pictures of their collectibles to see if they were trash or treasure.
Jacksonville appraiser Barbara Langston analyzed all of the items sent in.
We announced the results and values of the collectibles on Good Morning Jacksonville Sunrise and Good Morning Jacksonville.
Mike Baker and Barbara Lee brought in a chair and ottoman. Lee's grandfather's wife bought the chair in 1957 for $800.
Langston says it is in great shape and retro. She says it's likely worth $3,000 to $4,000.
Sharan Bernier drove her 1969 Camaro to the First Coast News station. It's in excellent, original condition with all of the original documents including the business card of the salesman who sold it.
Langston says it's worth approximately $45,000 to $52,000.
Susan West sent in a picture of her candlestick holders. They were made in Occupied Japan.
Langston says they are valued between $250 to $325.
Lisa Marie Smith has a pitcher and bowl used as a water basin. Langston says it's value around $225.
Vicki Parrott has a Barbie Doll case with a trade mark stamp saying 1961. It depicts Barbie images from the early 60s. It appears to be be black leather, in good condition.
Langston says it's likely worth approximately$165.
Terry Radcliffe sent in a picture of a Mickey Mouse wallet bought around 1948. Langston says it's worth about $75.
Twyla Holsenbeck sent pictures of a Fenton Vase.
Langston says back in January, the Menton company announced it would be closing due to low sales. This sparked a buying frenzy from Menton collectors. A few months later the company decided not to sell.
She says Holsenbeck's vase is worth about $100 but it would have been worth about double that before the big buying frenzy.
Lee Durbin sent in a picture of a head vase. Langston says these were sent out with flowers. They usually feature a woman's head and hold the flowers in the back.
Durbin's vase appears to have some wear and tear on it. Langston says it's worth about $50.
There is a Mariyln Monroe version of the head vase that Langston says is worth around $3,000 because they are rare.
JoAnn Erickson brought in a small statue. It was bought by from China in 1943 by her step-dad who was a photo journalist with the Merchant Marines.
Langston says it's worth about $600.
