
JACKSONVILLE, FL -- One person is dead after his pickup truck collided with a semi-truck.
The crash happened around 12 a.m. Thursday on Normandy Boulevard at Yellow Water Road. FHP troopers had the road closed for over 6 hours. But all lanes are now open.
According to the report by the Florida Highway Patrol, a chevy truck was heading east on Normandy. For an unknown reason the pickup truck drifted into oncoming traffic. It collided with a semi-truck.
Both vehicles burst into flames. The semi-truck went off the road onto the shoulder. The pickup truck was pushed back into the eastbound lane.
The driver of the Chevy truck was 21-year-old James Allen Rowland of Jacksonville. He died at the scene.
In the semi-truck was Kenneth Floyd and Betty Leak both of Leesburg, FL. They were both treated for minor injuries.
