By Kristin Smith First Coast News JACKSONVILLE, FL -- A deadly crash in front of a local elementary school involved a bus full of kids.
Now parents are forced to answer tough questions after their children watched a motorcyclist die in the street.
The bus was taking the kids to Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary School.
Police say a motorcyclist was thrown into a car after hitting the bus, and died at the scene.
The crash shut down parts of Beach Boulevard for more than three hours.
First Coast News spoke with one girl who saw the crash.
"All I heard was a screech," said student Alison Johnson.
Her grandmother, Cheryl Waddell, says she rides motorcycles sometimes, and that makes the crash even more disturbing for Alison.
"It was going through my mind that if my grandma was riding a motorcycle. I don't know what to do, I was scared," said Alison.
It's for kids like Alison, who saw the deadly crash, that the Hogan-Spring Glen Elementary principal, Jacqueline Christopher, brought in councilors to help the kids cope.
"The first thing we would want to know is what state of mind the child was in and to get them calmed down. And everything is going to be okay, and it was beyond anybody's control," said Christopher.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has not released the name of the victim, or whether any charges will be filed.
