OKEECHOBEE COUNTY, FL -- A swarm of Africanized honey bees killed a man in Florida. Agricultural officials believe the man is the first person in the state to die from killer bees.
Police say the killer bees stung 51-year-old Robert Davis more than 100 times Wednesday morning.
Davis had been searching for scrap metal with four others at an abandoned trailer in Okeechobee County.
His family says he turned over a piece of the trailer, which disturbed a hive of the bees, triggering the attack.
Davis died on Friday.
