JACKSONVILLE, FL -- Drivers will encounter a new traffic pattern from Interstate 10 eastbound to I-95 northbound on Sunday, April 13th.
Currently, there are separate lanes for the northbound through traffic and the northbound traffic using the downtown exits at Forsyth Street, Monroe Street and Kings Road.
On Sunday morning all northbound traffic, regardless of it's destination, will use the ramp once designated for the downtown exits.
This new traffic pattern will last for about a year. Mike Goldman with Florida's Department of Transportation says the shift is necessary to widen and replace lanes and bridges within the I-95 and I-10 construction area.
The $150.8 million interchange reconfiguration project is about 65 percent done, according to Goldman. It should be finished in late 2010 or early 2011.
