TAMPA,FL -- People expect power bills to be higher in the winter, but one couple in Florida was left scratching their heads after receiving a bill for almost $100,000.
Richard Grieshop and Lynda Williams live in a one-bedroom mobile home in Tampa.
Both use wheelchairs and live on fixed incomes.
Their power was turned off over the holidays, and has only been back on for about two weeks.
They were stunned not only by the bill, but by the power company's response.
"When I called down to have this taken care of, I was told that this came directly from the corporate office and that there was nothing I could do other than pay this amount," Grieshop said. "I have no idea how I ended up with a $100,000 electric bill. There's no way. I don't think anyone uses that in a lifetime."
A power company spokesperson later blamed the bill on a system error, and says the couple won't have to pay.
