Many leading Democrats have pushed for a boycott, but that would leave no Democratic response to the GOP-led investigation that is likely to call for testimony from Obama administration officials. The Republican-controlled U.S. House voted Thursday along party lines to establish the new investigation.

A $35 billion merger deal between advertising industry giants Omnicom Group and Publicis Groupe has fallen apart, the companies announced late Thursday. The companies said they were abandoning marriage plans due to "difficulties in completing the transaction within a reasonable time frame."
