STARKE, Fla. -- Artillery training at Camp Blanding may cause residents close to the base to hear explosions.
The Florida Army National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 116th Field Artillery Regiment will be firing 105-mm howitzers as part of their annual training.
The training will create loud explosions on the post.
Training for the artillery regiment will go from August 10-24. While it will take place at all hours of the day, the National Guard said it will not go past midnight each night.
Every effort is being made to minimize noise, the Guard said, but there are times that it may seem louder than normal due to wind direction changes.
If you live near the training center and would like to discuss noise concerns with Camp Blanding's Range Control Office, you may call them at 904-682-3121 or the Florida National Guard Public Affairs office at 904-823-0166.
