JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A new Fire Scout Training Center has been unveiled at NAS Jax.
The new facility is equipped with improved flight simulators, hands-on aircraft maintenance and classroom instruction.
It will be used to meet increased demand for trained operators during deployments.
Fire Scout provides ship and land-based commanders with intelligence, surveillance and inspection capabilities
It uses on-board sensors to capture full-motion video, identify targets, and then distribute the information in real time to various users.
