Why do you love America?

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It's our nation's 238th birthday. Here at First Coast News, we want to know, what do you love about America?

"I'm originally from Vietnam and I'm now an American citizen, and I just love it," Xuan Breaux said.

Tim Fraher loves the American patriotism displayed during the recent World Cup.

"I'm so proud of the soccer team and what they did in the World Cup," he said.

Many people we spoke with, including John Polke, are a big fan of American cuisine including "BBQ ribs, collard greens and fried corn," he said.

Joe Wyman is looking forward to watching fireworks with his parents in downtown Jacksonville.

"I really love spending time with my family," he said.

Alma Udotte said she is thankful for her freedom.

"People come over here to advance, to make their life better," she said.

Debbie Larson and Jill Calise have been friends for 40 years. Larson is visiting from St. Pete and said she is grateful for the time she has with her friends.

"Seeing your friends and enjoying life," she said.

Udotte said America is the greatest country in the world.

"I love America. God bless America," she said.
