Weavers gift $4.7M home to community nonprofits

Former Jacksonville Jaguars owners Wayne and Delores Weaver have gifted their $4.7 million, riverfront estate to The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida.

The foundation will sell the 14,000-square-foot home along the St. Johns River so proceeds can be used for grants to nonprofit organizations.

"This is a truly wonderful — and touching — example of the tremendous generosity of the Weavers, and showcases once again the Weavers' commitment to use their philanthropy as a force multiplier to benefit Northeast Florida," said Nina Waters, president of the foundation. "To give something so personal is such a bighearted act, and it will benefit so many."

The Weavers will continue their philanthropy by establishing a $1 million endowed donor-advised fund at the foundation in the names of the buyers who purchase the property at $4.7 million.

"This home holds a special place in our heart, as does Jacksonville," said Delores Barr Weaver. "In giving this property to The Community Foundation, and hopefully establishing an endowed fund for the buyer, many deserving nonprofits and those they serve will benefit."

The home at 6120 San Jose Blvd. West is being offered through Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Network Realty.
