ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- Authorities are asking for the public's help with locating a sexual assault suspect.
According to a release from the Atlantic Beach Police Department, the incident happened at One Ocean Resort & Spa Aug. 14 sometime between 5:15 a.m. and 5:50 a.m.
The victim described the suspect as a male, who is in his late 20's to mid 30's. The suspect is between 5'10'' and 6'2'' with a medium build, shoulder length braided hair and no facial hair.
The alleged assault has Atlantic Beach residents like Lori Adkinson a bit one edge.
"It's really out of the ordinary because I really feel safe. I can even leave my doors unlocked at night and let the breeze through and I don't feel nervous at all," said Adkinson.
However, Adkinson says the sketch and police report have her thinking twice about leaving her doors unlocked at night.
The suspect was last seen wearing a dark-colored, short-sleeved shirt and long pants that may have been black, similar to hotel's uniform. He was also described wearing gray baseball batters' gloves with Velcro closures and black low-cut work boots.
The suspect was last seen running east from the One Ocean Resort and Spa pool toward the beach front in Atlantic Beach.
Anyone having information about this suspect is asked to contact the Atlantic Beach Police Department at 904-247-5859.
Yakov Trakhtenarg has stayed at One Ocean Resort & Spa on several occasions. While he says it's one of the finer hotels in the area, he says the alleged crime is no surprise these days.
"Strange things happen and that's about it. You never know what happens on the street, at the ocean or at the pool," said Trakhtenarg.
According to Atlantic Beach police, there are no leads in the case.
