Two hurt in collision between four-wheeler and SUV

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Two teenagers were seriously hurt when their four-wheeler collided with a SUV in St. Augustine Friday night, authorities said.

Ashley Dighton and Shanna Devoe, both 17, were hospitalized following the crash, according to a release from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office. The SUV's driver was not hurt.

The teens were riding their four-wheeler near Jackson Boulevard and Second Avenue about 10:20 p.m. when it collided with a SUV, deputies said.

Dighton was airlifted to UF Health Jacksonville with non-life threatening injuries. Devoe was taken to Flagler Hospital, deputies said.

Deputies are investigating what led up to the crash. Charges are pending.
