Two arrests made in Northside murder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Two people were arrested Thursday night in connection with the murder of a Northside man.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office found Bryan Joseph Edwards, 47, dead in a Northside home Sunday. He was considered missing by family members. Investigators say "suspicious circumstances" surrounded his death.

JSO said James Alfred Jacobsen, along with Rebecca Brantley, both 37 years old, shot and killed Edwards during a planned robbery. Brantley and Jacobsen lived across the street from Edwards.

Jacobsen and Brantley were arrested for dealing in stolen property after they sold items stolen during the robbery to a local pawn shop. During the interview, JSO said, Brantley confessed to stealing the items and implicated Brantley in the murder.

The body was discovered by JSO in the 1200 block of Carthage Drive near Dunn Avenue just after midnight Sunday.

Brantley was arrested for dealing in stolen property and accessory to murder and Jacobsen was arrested for murder, armed robbery and other charges.
