Toddler suffers extensive burns from hot coffee

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Fire and Rescue‎ responded to reports of a toddler with extensive burns.

Preliminary reports say a 1-year-old girl suffered extensive burns to her head and chest from hot coffee. The burning occurred in a home near the 8400 block of Roosevelt Boulevard, according to JFRD.

The unidentified toddler was brought to an 84 Lumber on Highway 17 and transported by air to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville for burn treatment.
