Teen drowns off Reddie Point

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a drowning off Reddie Point Wednesday morning in the Charter Pointe area.

Two young adults jumped into the water near the Reddie Pointe Preserve Park, according to JSO spokesperson Shannon Hartley. The JSO dive team responded to reports of a possible drowning just before 11:30 a.m.

JSO was able to pull one of the swimmers from the water safely, however the second swimmer was found around 4 p.m. deceased.

The deceased swimmer has been identified as 18-year-old Rueben Dachoute.
