Suspected meth lab raided at Orange Park motel

Deputies searched the In-Town Suites in Clay County after an anonymous call about suspected drug activity.

ORANGE PARK, Fla.- Police and hazardous materials crews are on the scene of a suspected meth lab in a long-term stay motel in Orange Park.

Crews have been removing materials from a room at the InTown Suites at 442 Blanding Blvd throughout the morning Monday.

Part of the property was evacuated while crews worked to safely remove the drugs.

The Clay County Sheriff's Office is calling this an "active narcotics investigation". The Sheriff's office says they received an anonymous tip at 630 a.m. Monday about a possible meth lab.

One person in the room is being questioned by detectives and another is being sought for questioning.

Deputies hope to allow others back into the area by mid-afternoon.
