Suspect questioned in fatal hit and run

ST. AUGUSTINE BEACH, Fla. -- A 53-year-old man was killed, another man is being questioned following a fatal hit and run Tuesday night in St. Johns County.

Detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office reported in a release that the incident occurred just before midnight Tuesday.

Deputies said they received reports of a man, later identified as Robert Dale Louk, unconscious in the roadway on A1A South at Florida Avenue.

A witness told officials she saw a white Toyota pick-up truck strike Louk, then continue South on A1A.

A deputy located a car matching the description within a few miles of the initial scene.

Investigators found a male suspect, who refused to cooperate with the investigation. Search warrants were obtained for the vehicle and for a blood sample from the driver.

The suspect's identity will be released if he is facing charges.
