NEW YORK (AP) - Investors are hoping the bulls continue to run on Wall Street this week.
Last week was the Dow Jones industrial average's best since January.
Stocks rose broadly Friday after traders got a lift from two economic reports: one said inflation remained tame in August and the other showed that Americans increased their spending modestly last month.
The Dow rose 75 points, or 0.5 percent, to 15,376. The index closed up three percent for the week, its best five-day performance since the week ending Jan. 4.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 4 1/2 points, or 0.3 percent, to 1,687. The Nasdaq composite index rose six points, or 0.2 percent, to 3,722.
