WASHINGTON (AP) - Among the major economic events scheduled for Wednesday is the Labor Department's release of the Producer Price Index for July. In addition, quarterly financial reports are due from, among others, Deere & Co., Macy's Inc. and Cisco Systems, Inc.
In London, preliminary second-quarter gross domestic product figures will be released for the eurozone and larger European Union. Meanwhile, the U.S. Commerce Department reported Tuesday that U.S. businesses left stockpiles unchanged in June while sales rose modestly, an encouraging sign.
The agency said business stockpiles were flat in June compared with May. Inventories had fallen a slightly 0.1 percent in May. Sales rose 0.2 percent in June after a solid 1.1 percent increase in May.
