As Hurricane Sandy drew closer to the New Jersey shore, and public
transportation in New York City remained suspended, the Broadway League
announced late Monday afternoon that all Broadway theaters would stay
dark through Tuesday night.
"Now that the storm has arrived, I'd
like to reiterate that the safety and security of theatergoers and
employees is everyone's primary concern," said League director Charlotte
St. Martin, alluding to Sunday's statement canceling performances that
night and Monday. She added, "We expect normal operations to resume
Wednesday morning."
Ticketholders can inquire about refunds and exchanges at the League's website, www.livebroadway.com.
