ATLANTA -- A former police lieutenant and a businessman have been sentenced in a bribery case.

U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates says former DeKalb County Deputy Police Chief Donald Frank was sentenced Thursday to three years and seven months in prison. The 49-year-old Yates will also serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Businessman Amin Budhwani was sentenced to one year and eight months in prison. The 48-year-old Budhwani will also serve three years of supervised release following his prison term.

Yates says Frank and former officer Willie Daren Durrett accepted money from Budhwani. The evidence at trial indicated that Budhwani initially approached Durrett in 2007 to help him intimidate a small business owner with whom Budhwani had a dispute.

Durrett is expected to be sentenced Friday.
