JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Restaurants and bars by the beach are in full Sea and Sky Spectacular mode. The event is one of the most anticipated of the year and one that will help boost Jacksonville Beach businesses as they head into a slower season.

"I mean I think it's huge when you have the expectation of possibly hundreds of thousands of people coming to the beach for this air show its one of the biggest weekends for every business in Jacksonville Beach" said Scott Ostrander, Chef at Ocean Grille.

Ocean Grille on 1st Street North just opened last weekend and they say the Air Show was definitely a catalyst to getting their doors opened for a big revenue-generating weekend.

"We're just expecting to be full from mid afternoon today through Sunday late afternoon, we're just expecting to be crowded and be at capacity," Ostrander said.

As aircraft soared through the sky for practice Friday afternoon, restaurant patios began to get crowded and chefs and bartenders got to work.

"During the day time we've got a lot of drink specials," Ostrander said. "We're doing a lot of fresh local fried seafood and fresh oysters on the half shell and things like that you know, quick food that we can do during the day for all the crowd that's going to be out here."

Employees will be working every day of the weekend to accommodate the crowds and local business owners get to see the economic result of an event that combines the sea and the sky.
