JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- With all the drama going on in the National Football League with replacement referees right now, it would be nice to put the fun back in football.
The River City will see that wish come true: The Lingerie Football League has agreed to move the Tampa Breeze franchise to Jacksonville.
The team will be branded as the Jacksonville Breeze, according to a release from the LFL.
Two home dates will be played at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in 2013, one on Saturday, March 30 and another on Saturday, May 25.
"This is an exciting moment for us here at Veterans Memorial Arena as we become part of one of the most exciting live sports that is aggressively building momentum. We welcome the opportunity to kickoff the Jacksonville Breeze franchise", said Larry Wilson, General Manager for the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
